Dr. Patrick Berends is a Maine native who spent most of his youth living on dairy farms in Maine and the upper Midwest. He received his B.S. (1988) and M.S. (1990) in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Maine. He received his Ph.D. (1998) in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University. His teaching and research interests include management, finance, sales techniques, research methods, and anything involving the dairy industry. Dr. Berends began working at California State University, Fresno in August 2007. His non-work interests include writing fiction, playing classic rock guitar, and cheering on his beloved New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
